The CCS Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Program

The CCS is proud to introduce a revised scholarship program that recognizes outstanding student-athletes in the Central Coast Section. The Scholar-Athlete Scholarship program will recognize one (1) female and one (1) male from each league to receive a minimum of $500 each.

Out of these eight (8) females and eight (8) male student-athletes put forward to the CCS Office, one (1) female and one (1) male will be chosen for the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, with each receiving a $1,500 scholarship. The remaining 14 nominees will receive $500 each.

For student-athletes interesting in applying, please click on the links below. This entire packet should be completed and returned to your Principal, Athletic Director, or designated representative at your school.

This person will forward your application to the League Office for review. The deadline for applications to be received by your League Office is February 11, 2024. Included in this packet is a checklist, so that you ensure that you return all requirements to your school. The league office will put forth one (1) female and one (1) male student-athlete to the CCS and winners will be notified by the CCS Office. 

Note: SAT/ACT not required to apply for any scholarships.

The Joyce-Ridgway Scholarship

Joyce Ridgway served as a leader in the development of Women's sports in the CCS and the CIF. Due to her tireless determination and dedication to enhancing and expanding opportunities for girls in sport, a scholarship is offered annually to a deserving female high school senior who exemplifies the characteristics of leadership, determination, dedication, self-sacrifice, and integrity that is reflective of Joyce Ridgway's character and contributions.
The scholarship amount is $750 and applications should be submitted directly to the CCS Office (333 Piercy Rd, San Jose, CA 95138) no later than March 11, 2024.  Seperate documents will not be accepted from various individuals. This entire packet should be completed and returned via e-mail to msanchez@cifccs.org.  The winner will be notified by the CCS Office.

The Jeff Lamb Scholarship

Coach Jeff Lamb from Milpitas High School was a teacher, a coach and an athletic administrator at the highest levels during a career that spanned 41 years. Ideal candidates for the Jeff Lamb Scholarship are student athletes who have exhibited an interest in becoming a teacher/coach and eventually attain leadership in the Athletic Director role.

The scholarship amount is $750 and applications should be submitted directly to the CCS Office (333 Piercy Rd, San Jose, CA 95138) no later than March 11, 2024.
